Holiday card mailings
Every year, businesses and professionals send holiday cards to clients, donors, or contacts. You have the list in a spreadsheet or CRM; you need envelopes (and sometimes a short letter) for each person. That’s a classic mail merge for holiday cards job. Word can do it; List Processor does it without the wizard.
How to create holiday card envelopes with Word
In Word you use Mailings → Start Mail Merge → Envelopes, then:
- Set envelope size (e.g. #10 or a smaller card size) in Envelope Options.
- Select Recipients → Use an Existing List and link your Excel or CRM export (often saved as CSV). Choose the right sheet and range.
- Insert merge fields in the delivery address area («AddressBlock» or individual fields). Your columns must match or you map them.
- Preview and fix misaligned or blank envelopes. Optional: create a separate document for a short merged letter (“Dear «FirstName», happy holidays…”).
- Finish & Merge to print or save as PDF.
Many people want a faster path: paste the list, get the envelopes, move on. That’s what List Processor is for.
